Say 'Hi!' to our very first Vets Against Insanity Student Ambassadors!

Vets Against Insanity loves vet students. In fact, we love them so much that we collaborated with them to create our Vets Against Insanity student game (btw it's hilarious and...uh...a little more than slightly scandalous...we all know dark humor is a maladaptive yet effective way of getting through vet school).

This year we have 6 veterinary student ambassadors. Their job was simple: play the game with friends, take pictures, be slightly scandalous, and give away free games. What could be better?

If you are reading this blog and want to show these people a little love, head down to the comment section and welcome our ambassadors...soon to be baby vets....as they spread laughter, connections, and maybe a few shenanigans in veterinary schools across the globe.

Meet the Student Ambassadors

Professional goal: Mixed practice

Why did you sign up to be an ambassador?

As I started vet school I found it really enjoyable to do activities with my peers where we could all have some fun and get to know each other. I came across Vets Against Insanity and it seemed like the perfect ice breaker for the vet students. I’m passionate about vet students making time to have some fun and have a good laugh together. This game seems to really represent that

I really love the game and want to be able to share it with all faculty and staff. It's a great way with connecting with colleagues and the community.

What is something weird or interesting about you that other people might not know?

I’m terrified of peacocks. 🦚

Professional Goal: Diagnostic Imaging

Why did you sign up to be an ambassador?

I found Vets Against Insanity at SAVMA Symposium 2022 when they held an hour at the conference to play the game. I really enjoyed it. My hope is that I can use the game to bring some joy to my fellow vet med colleagues, especially on tough days.

Favorite class in vet school and why?

I really love the imaging classes I've had so far. My dad's a radiologist, so I grew up learning a lot about the profession from him. I grew to find it both a great challenge and a way to make a difference. I've had great imaging professors so far and really like learning more about all the things you can find just by imaging.

What is something weird or interesting about you that other people might not know?

I once rock climbed a mountain blindfolded. 🙈

Professional goal: Shelter Medicine, Public Service

Why did you sign up to be an ambassador?

I met y'all at SAVMA Symposium in March, and I love this game! I am a big proponent of not taking yourself too seriously, especially in vet school. I love how this game brings everyone together- it feels like a big inside joke with all your friends who you've shared so much with.

Favorite card combination:

After much deliberation and consultation- I couldn't decide on one, but I narrowed it down to 3:

Vet school is _____. CHANGE MY MIND.

-Developing an intimate knowledge of every kind of penis on Planet Earth 😆

-Vacuuming a hamster into the central piping while prepping for surgery ✅

-Realizing the night before you are studying for the wrong exam 😱

What is something weird or interesting about you that other people might not know?

I like to collect fun salt and pepper shakers! I was a theater kid, and I am in love with Lewis Capaldi. 💖💗🥰💞

Abby Wimmer

Abby Wimmer

Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, Class of 2027

Professional Goal: I hope to work alongside my mom in the family small animal general practice, and one day take it over when she’s ready to retire. 🙌

Why did you sign up to be an ambassador?

My mom introduced the game to me, and I have enjoyed playing it with my fellow colleagues in vet school. I can be described as the life of the party, and I love to embarrass myself. That being said, I knew I wanted to represent this quirky game ;)

Favorite card combination: I have a burning desire to drop out of vet school and become a drag queen named…

Fluff McFuck

What do you do for fun? I am on the Virginia Tech Club Gymnastics team, and I am also a competitive power lifter.

What is something weird or interesting about you that other people might not know?

Something interesting about me is that I have dreams of becoming a rodeo clown! 🤡😂🤡

Sieauna Vigh

Sieauna Vigh

Utah State University/Washington State University, Class of 2026

Why did you sign up to be an ambassador?

I became an ambassador because I wanted to share all the jokes and laughs of this game with my peers. I first played this game at the 2023 SAVMA Symposium and had a blast! I loved being a part of all the inside jokes and bonding with my associates over shared experiences. I think this game is a great way to take the edge off and relieve stress, which we as vet students could always use more of. I am a fun, jokey individual who would love to be the person who gets to share this game with my fellow second years as well as first years.

Favorite card combination:

"stupid shit that happens to vet students: ______"

"6 figure student debt" 😆😭

Book or movie you would recommend and why?

The Love Hypothesis! Perfect for a girl looking for something a little spicy but also still loves and lives everything science!

What is something weird or interesting about you that other people might not know?

I have hypermotile elbows! They move all gross and it's a great party trick. 😂

Rachel Roy

Rachel Roy

Atlantic Veterinary College, Class of 2024

Professional goal: small animal rotating internship, emergency medicine

Why did you sign up to be an ambassador?

I absolutely love this game and it's been one of the best ways for my friends and I to relax and de-stress. I'm from the US and I brought this over to Canada before it was shipping to Canada and I think it's amazing that it's being brought over the border!

Favorite card combination: I definitely know there's "can you trim his nails" in there

What is something weird or interesting about you that other people might not know?

I was absolutely petrified of dogs until I was about 9 years old when my parents bought a Lab to make my sisters and I unafraid. We wouldn't even go near the dog for the first 6 months.

Please join us in giving these future vets a warm Vets Against Insanity welcome! We are so glad you are part of the profession, and even more glad that you have a sense of humor and want to play with us. 🎉🥳🎊

If you would like to apply to be a student ambassador we would love to have you! Just send an email to yo@vetsagainstinsanity.com with the subject title "SA Ambassador" and tell us why you think you'd make a great ambassador!
